Obituary

Gerald “Jerry” Warren Sr., 84, of Tallassee, passed away March 19, 2020 surrounded by loving family. He was born August 2, 1935 to the late Roy and Thelma Warren of Tallassee, Alabama.

He is survived by his children, Ronny (Debbie) Warren, Katharine (Thomas) Flanders, Steve (Kay) Warren, Keith (Pam) Warren and Mark (Lisa) Warren, thirteen grandchildren and a large, loving extended family.

Jerry was a dedicated member of Good Hope Baptist Church. As a US Navy Veteran, he served during the Korean Conflict. He was a faithful member of the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association and also retired from Civil Service with over 30 years of service. Jerry had a passion for beef cattle farming and family genealogy. He also enjoyed reading, especially military history. He loved his family and wrote the most wonderful letters and will be remembered for his generosity to family and friends.

There will be a private funeral service for the family. Friends may join the service via Facebook live at 2 pm on Saturday, March 21, 2020. Go to www.linvillememorial.com and click on the Facebook icon at the bottom of the page.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Elmore County Humane Society or the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association.

My heart is full of sadness.. Mr Warren aka papa Warren to Maggie( one of Chiefs puppies) had been such a sweet part of our lives over the last 2 1/2 years. Memories of him coming to see Maggie will forever bring a smile to my heart! He will be dearly missed.
