Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory directing. Social distancing practices and masking should be practiced. Pall bearers will be Kelly Emfinger, Douglas Butler, Brian Freeman, Micah Emfinger, Hunter Griggs and Brendan Emfinger.

Kristy is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Tony Bodenheimer and parents, AJ and Flora Lilly. She is survived by her children, Tonya Rogers (Trey) and Andy Bodenheimer (Julie); grandson, Jude Rogers; cousins Nan Todd and Carol Wiggins; close lifelong friends, BJ Crew and Colonel Bobby Smart; and her loving Gaither, Bodenheimer, McPherson and Emfinger families.

She was a graduate of Tallassee High School Class of 1967 and a member of The Long Blue Line. Upon graduation, Kristy attended The University of Alabama, was a member of the “The Million Dollar Band” and worked in the band office where she wrote out musical parts in her uniquely beautiful handwriting. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Tallassee. She enjoyed arts and crafts, genealogy and ancestry, and supporting any activity her children were in. She was instrumental in starting the re-enactments of the Battles for the Armory in Tallassee. Most of all, she loved spoiling her grandson and all of the children in the family. Kristy loved big. She is loved by many and will be missed by many.

Kristy and I were classmates at Tallassee Elementary (1955-60) and attended The University of Alabama together. We kept in touch later on, including my visiting her at City Hall at work. You couldn’t know a finer Christian person than Kristy. Glad I got to. I am comforted by the knowledge that she is with The Lord Jesus Christ, at Home. But I miss her and grieve her loss. Roll Tide, Kristy!

Dear Tonya and Andy,
I am so sorry about your mom's passing. You are right! Everything she undertook, she did well. We were in the Long Blue Line together during high school days. She was an outstanding musician and very dedicated to her music. Later, I would see her from time to time at the medical office. Always friendly just like yesteryear. May God comfort you in your loss with wonderful memories.

Tonya and Andy, your mother was a special person and she will be with you throughout your life. I always admired and respected your mother's caring and selfless nature. She was one of my closest and dearest friends and my next door neighbor growing up. We shared many fun times together, from kindergarten all the way through our time at the University of Alabama. I was an only child and she was my adopted sister. I could always depend on her for good advice and help in any situation. Your mother's kindness was contagious and her memory will live forever. She was an amazing person with many talents and her love for her children and grandchildren was a priority in her life. I feel a loss in losing a dear friend but I am comforted by the fact that she was a special friend. She will live forever in our memory. Our thoughts and love are with you during this time. Colonel (Ret) Bobby & Ginger Smart and family.

Bobby, Kristy was indeed your “adopted sister.” So many memories of the two of y’all in the 1955-60 school years. When Evelyn King retired, it was Kristy and Ramona McDermott and you and I that helped Miss King clear out her school room (just after we were part of her final fifth grade class!). The four of us made a memory in June of 1960, spending the money Miss King gave us to buy ice cream sandwiches at the service station on the corner. You and Kristy made Gilmer Avenue a fun place to visit, for those of us in Jordanville! Along with you, I remember Kristy with deep fondness. We were fortunate to have known her.
