Allen Wayne Oates

Mr. Allen Wayne Oates, 59, of Wetumpka, passed away December 19, 2020. He was born September 22, 1961.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 23 from 5 to 6 pm at Linville Memorial Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 6 pm with Rev. Larry McEndarfer officiating.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Charles Oates. He is survived by his wife of 5 years, Charleene Bryant Oates; his dear cousin, Lisa; and special friend, Cayla, with whom he had a treasured bond.

Wayne drove a truck most of his life and when not driving, he worked as a stump grinder for himself and also for several companies, including Stokes Tree Service, with Jacob Harris at Trees’ Etc., Smith Tree Service and later for Miles McCormack at Capital City Stump Grinding. He was a member of Pentecostal Life Church in Montgomery and enjoyed outdoor activities. Wayne had a fun and endearing personality and was loved by many.
