Bonnie Sue Scroggins (Estes), age 64, entered into the eternal arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday evening, June 17, 2026, at 6:50 p.m., surrounded by the deep love of her daughters.
Born on January 17, 1962, in West Virginia, Bonnie spent the majority of her life in Eclectic, Alabama, where she graduated from Elmore County High School in 1980. To know Bonnie was to know a love that was simple, pure, and fierce. She was a woman of profound, unwavering faith who never knew a stranger and found immense beauty in the small details of everyday life. She was proudly, effortlessly silly, bringing joy and a smile to everyone she met. Bonnie lived for her people, finding her greatest happiness in the simplest moments, like a shared car ride with those she cherished.
Bonnie's passions reflected her nurturing spirit. She dedicated her life to caring for her family, tending to her beloved flowers, buying knick-knacks, solving puzzles, and keeping a beautifully clean home. She was an extraordinary cook who found immense joy in feeding anyone and everyone, a gift that shone brightest during her favorite holidays, especially Christmas. She loved to travel, go "anywhere and everywhere," especially to see her daughter Ashley at the beach, and looked forward to her Friday night dinners with her daughter Kim and their friends. Above all, Bonnie loved attending church and sharing the love of Christ with everyone she could.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that Bonnie is celebrating Father's Day in Heaven with her beloved daddy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robbie Dale Scroggins; her father, Leon Alton Estes; and her mother, Joan Emfinger Estes.
Her beautiful legacy of love and faith will be carried forward by her devoted daughters, Kimberly Sue Scroggins of Montgomery, AL, and Ashley Marie Forrest (Matthew) of Palm Coast, FL; her sister, Donna Jo Parker; her nephew, Justin Nathaniel Bush (Breanna); her niece, Gwendolynn Rachel Coker (Will); and her cherished great-nephews, Luke and Gray.
A celebration of Bonnie's life will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Rushenville Baptist Church in Eclectic, Alabama. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest immediately following the service in Bullard Cemetery.
In memory of Bonnie's vibrant spirit and her joyful entry into heaven, the family gently requests that those in attendance refrain from wearing traditional black. Instead, please wear cheerful colors as we celebrate her eternal life with Jesus. While flowers are welcome and deeply appreciated, the family also invites you to make a memorial donation gift to her beloved home church, Rushenville Baptist Church, in her memory.
"Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses." - 1 Timothy 6:12
