Carolyn James

Carolyn M. James, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025 at the age of 88. Carolyn was born on July 28, 1936 in Elmore, Alabama, to Dewey and Flora McDonald.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George James and her youngest son, Christopher Noel James. She leaves behind her cherished children, Danny (Jeanette) James, Craig James, Angela (Eric) Freeman and Wanda (John) Estes. She was a proud grandmother to Amber Rae, Christina (Joel), Joshua (Bethany), Hallah, Andrea, Michelle, Erika (Anslea), Dakota (Kaleigh), Christopher, Jada, Devon, Nikki (Gerod), Brittney, Ariel, Maddie, Brooke and O'Neill. She also leaves behind 28 great-grandchildren, along with two sisters, Joyce McRimmon of Tallassee, Al. and Faye (Autrey) Tucker of Eclectic, Al.

Carolyn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eclectic, Alabama until her health would no longer allow her to attend. She enjoyed gardening and her favorite flower was red roses. Next to God and all her children, she worshiped ALABAMA football.

The family will receive friends and family at 1:00 P.M. for the visitation with funeral service at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, June 23, 2025 at Linville Memorial Funeral Home with Wanda Estes officiating Carolyn's Eulogy, followed by stories shared by family and friends.

Carolyn will be remembered for touching the lives of all her children and friends in many different and countless ways. Even though Carolyn has parted from this world, beyond the horizon of our sight, her essence remains in the hearts of those who loved her.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Nikki Barris, Ivey Creek, Ms. Diane, Maddie Rozeman, Shereese George and Kelley Holley for bestowing their love and care to our mother.
