Christine Lumpkin

Mrs. Christine Lumpkin, age 85, a resident of Notasulga, passed away March 22, 2012. She was born August 21, 1926.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 24, 2012 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Linville Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Perryman officiating. Burial will follow at Notasulga Memory Gardens.

She was a faithful, loving and strong wife of 64 years to her surviving husband, Dawson Lumpkin. She was a mother who did what the scriptures said – she trained her sons in the way they should go. She was proud of her sons and the men they have become. She is survived by sons, Larry D. Lumpkin (Nelda) and Donnie W. Lumpkin (Michelle); brother, Alfred Curlee; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Harry and Nadine Sanders; sisters-in-law, Becky Lumpkin and Ada Lumpkin; grandchildren, Larry Jonathon Lumpkin, April Schieferstein (Adam) and Amanda Harris; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Clayton Schieferstein; and several nieces and nephews.
