David Milford Barrentine

Rev. David Milford Barrentine, 87, of Aliceville, formerly of Tallassee, passed away February 7, 2015 at his home.

Services will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th St NE, Aliceville, Alabama, with Bro. Mike Griffin, Bro. Hershel Owen and Bro. Mike Ezelle officiating. Graveside service and visitation will follow at 3:00 pm at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tallassee, Alabama with Rev. Jay Woodall officiating, Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Sara Thompson Barrentine; son, David Wayne Barrentine; daughter, Sara Jane Hall; his parents, Carlos and Ada Wilcutt Barrentine; stepmother, Stella Romine Barrentine; brother, Buel Barrentine; sisters, Pearline Sanders, Delphine Vines and Mavie Evans; and stepbrother, Boyd Taylor.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy McDaniel Barrentine of Aliceville, AL; daughters, Martha Barrentine and Miriam Smith (Gary) both of Deatsville, AL; son, Tom Barrentine of Tuscaloosa, AL; stepdaughter, Sherry Cusanelli (Bob) of Carrollton, AL; sister, Camellia Huey (K.D.) of Curry, AL; stepsister, Betty Maynord (Bill) of Hueytown, AL; grandsons, David Adams, Paul Adams, Jonathan Barrentine and Marshall Stough; three step-grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

David was born December 4, 1927 in Berry, Alabama. He entered the U. S. Navy in 1945 to serve his country in World War II. After being honorably discharged from the Navy in 1947, David graduated seminary at Tennessee Temple Schools. He began his ministry serving as youth pastor at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Hueytown, AL. Throughout his ministry, he pastored five churches: Wilcutt Memorial Tabernacle, Tuscaloosa, AL; West End Baptist, Aliceville, AL; Tallaweka Baptist, Tallassee, AL; West Side Independent Baptist, Tallassee, AL and Garden Baptist, Aliceville, AL.
