David L. "D.L." Turner

David L. (D.L.) Turner passed away on June 2, 2018 at the age of 87 surrounded by his family. He was born April 28, 1931.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 10 am, at Linville Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Turner and Rev. Faron Golden officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem East Baptist Church, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 5-7 pm at Linville Memorial Funeral Home.

He is survived by sons, David Turner (Mary Ann) and Charles Turner (Kay); grandchildren, Jennifer Woods (Bear), Haley Daniel (Dylan), Nicholas Turner and Charlie Turner; great grandchildren, Winsley and Bo Winston Woods; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Josie Turner; parents, Lena and Dave Turner, and siblings, Mary Dean, Mark Turner, Milford Turner and Luverne Gaither.

D.L. was a long time employee of A&P in Auburn for 43 years. He was a die hard Auburn Fan and loved to watch the Atlanta Braves. He also had a green thumb for plants and flowers. He grew flowers in his yard and made flower arrangements for Bethlehem East Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member for more than 70 years. He loved to play dominoes and any and all card games with his friends. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. D.L. was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
