Mrs. Dean Ballentine, affectionately known as “Dean Dean” age 88, of Montgomery, formerly of Tallassee, passed away April 26, 2014. She was born March 21, 1926.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Linville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 11:00 am at Westside Baptist Church where she was a charter member with Rev. Jim Oliver and Rev. Rick Dorley officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing.
Although her boldness in character was forefront, her loving kindness was felt by everyone who had the joy of knowing her. Her love for the Lord was apparent to all, and she made it her mission in life for her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews to memorize Bible verses.
She is survived by son, Rev. Jim Oliver (Linda) of Hot Springs, AR; daughter, Elishia Ballentine of Montgomery, AL; grandsons, James Oliver of Tallassee, AL and Mickey Frazier (Kim) of Benton, LA: granddaughters, Brenda French (Earl) of Red Hill, AL and Leslie Swicord (Michael) of Tallassee, AL; sister-in-law, Frances Lett; brother-in-law, Jody Hamilton; special friends, Glen and Margaret Baggett; ten great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and two grand dogs.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Demp and Daisy Lett; husband, Fletcher Ballentine; daughter, Dorothy “Dot” Frazier; son, Jack Ballentine; sisters, Jean Lett Parker and Leon Lett Hamilton; and brother, Frank Lett.
