Dianne Norrell

Dianne Brown Norrell, 68, of Tallassee, passed away September 17, 2021. She was born April 19, 1953 in Eclectic, Alabama, and resided in Tallassee, Alabama with her husband of 51 years, Gary Norrell.

Visitation will begin at 1 pm with a funeral service to follow at 2 pm from Liberty Baptist Church on Monday, September 20, 2021 with Rev. David Atchison officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brad Peters, Andy Scroggins, Gabe Thrash, Devin Veasey, Danny Ingram and Randy Meharg.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Peggy Brown; and father in-law and mother-in-law, Aubrey and Lena Norrell.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Norrell; sons, Nick (Dawn) Norrell and Blake (Julia) Norrell; granddaughters, Maddy, Carolina and Carleigh Norrell; grandson, Kallan Norrell; siblings, Joyce (Danny) Ingram, Linda (Randy) Meharg, Bonnie (Ray) Miller and Sammy Brown; along with several nieces and nephews.

She was loved so much by her family and friends. She received two Bachelor degrees from A.U.M. in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. She then received two Master degrees from A.S.U. in Elementary Education and Media Specialist. She taught 4th Grade and was the Tallassee Elementary School Librarian for a combined 20 years. She loved cruising, traveling, gardening and was an avid reader.
