Donald Melton

Mr. Donald Melton, age 76, a resident of Tallassee, passed away March 25, 2012. He was born March 21, 1936.

Visitation will be Monday, March 26, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Linville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service Tuesday, March 27 at 2:00 pm in Chapel at Linville Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Smith officiating. Burial in Carrville Cemetery.

He is survived by special friend, Betty Spivey of Tallassee; children, Susan White (Steve) of Calera, Donny Melton (Jan) of Tallassee, Cindy Reynolds (David) of Clanton, Billy Melton, Donna Goggins and Bryan Melton, all of Tallassee; siblings, Nellie Tyler (David) of Post, TX, Eyvonne Dunham (Louis) of Kellyton, Kenneth Melton (Shirley) of Alexander City, Ralph Melton (Sheila) of Post, TX, Ronnie Melton of Alexander City and Jimmy Melton (Teresa) of Cleveland, GA; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Jerome Melton; mother, Ada Ruth Melton; sister, Jewel Dean Jackson; and grandchildren, Bob Elmer and Ashley Melton.

Don retired from Winn-Dixie in 1995 after 25 years of service. After retirement, he worked 10 years at Madix.
