Douglas Verdell Thrash

Mr. Douglas Thrash, 77, of Tallassee passed away September 15, 2020. He was born June 17, 1943.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 18, at 2 pm at Linville Memorial Funeral Home with Chaplain Jamal E. Browder officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, beginning at 1 pm.

He is survived by his son, Douglas Gabriel Thrash and daughter, Emmy Lue Thrash; granddaughter, Diamond Marie Oliver; adopted daughter, Connie Faye Hubbard; brother, Billie Morris Thrash and a loving, extended family. He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Thrash.

He served in the United States Army and Navy and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. His hobbies were fishing, riding around, Alabama football and spending time with his grandbaby. He was a painter by trade and whether residential or commercial, he always did his best. He instilled discipline and structure in every part of his life. He is greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
