Edward Crutchfield

January 23, 1946 — April 5, 2013

Emblem
Mr. Edward Crutchfield was born on January 23, 1946 and died on April 5, 2013. He was preceded in death by his dad, Rev. W. R. Crutchfield and his brother, Robert Crutchfield.

He is survived by Barbara, his wife of nearly 45 years; his son, Scott and wife, Emily, and his beloved grandchildren, Dawson, Lydia and Adam. He is also survived by his mother, Earsy Mae Crutchfield; his brother, Earl (Ann) Crutchfield; step-brother, Carlos (Connie) Trawick; step-sister, Martha (Will) Persons and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Crutchfield. Other survivors are his in-laws, Jack and Lillian Hale; brothers-in-law, John (Judith) White and Tom (Shani) White and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins that he loved dearly.

Ed was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army where he served as a helicopter crew chief in Viet Nam. He was a retired truck driver, cattleman and collector of “treasures” often overlooked by others. He faced the very rare disease that destroyed his body with a courage that left his family in awe. He was a friend to many and will be dearly missed.

Services will be held on Monday, April 8 at the Eclectic United Methodist Church with visitation from 2 pm to 3 pm and services to follow. Pastor Mark Osgood will conduct the services. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery with military honors.

The family would especially like to thank Dr. Marcial Mendez and the staff at Community Hospice – Susan, Kelly, Amy, Kandy, Allison and Chiquita.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eclectic United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 240580, Eclectic, AL 36024. Online condolences at www.linvillememorial.com.
