Elizabeth "Betsey" Thompson

Elizabeth "Betsey" Thompson, 68, was born on September 23, 1955 and passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024 in her home in Tallassee, Alabama.

In October of 1981, Betsey and her husband, John, moved from Charleston, West Virginia to Tallassee, where they made their home and raised their family. To know Betsey was to love her. Her smile and laughter could light up a room. She had a great love for people and was beloved by many. Of that, there is no doubt. She was a wife, mother, "Nena," and friend to many and will be greatly missed.

Betsey was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Annetta Isbell, as well as her only son, John Charles Thompson. It brings her surviving family great comfort to know she was welcomed to her eternal home by loving arms. Betsey is survived by her husband, John Thompson; daughters, Melissa (Jerry) Martinson and Beth (Chhorn) Lim; daughter-in-law, Lizzie Thompson; and her grandchildren, who were the light of her life: Alyson and Anna Eller, Madelyn and John David Lim, and Sawyer and Benjamin Thompson.

Those whose lives were touched by Betsey are invited to join us to honor her memory at Linville Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM with a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
