Mr. Elzie Thomas Blake, 83, of Pensacola, FL., devoted husband, loving father and loyal friend to many, went home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2013. He was born on October 16, 1929 in Equality, AL to Isaac Callaway and Susie Pearl Blake.

While in Korea, he received a battlefield commission and was presented with the Silver Star. After returning from Korea he was reunited with his sweetheart and love of his life, Dean Graham.
Elzie loved to drive and made a career as an independent trucker. Most of all, he loved his family and would do anything for them. The one thing he cherished the most was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Elzie lived life to the fullest every day. In the toughest of times, he managed to smile and make the most of it. From the very first day, his wife never left his side. The love they had for each other and the care she gave him during his time of need was immeasurable. He was strong willed and fought until the end.
He was a member of the Columbian Masonic Lodge #7, in Columbus, GA for 49 years, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason; a member of Hadji Shrine and a past Assistant Director of the Hadji Director's Staff. He accepted the Lord at East Hill Baptist Church and remained a member for over 40 years.
