Ernest Loyd Shoemaker, Jr.

Ernest Loyd Shoemaker, Jr., age 71, of Wetumpka, passed away February 16, 2023. He was born January 12, 1952.

Visitation will be from 10 am to 11 am on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Linville Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 11:30 am in Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Rev. Bruce McCormick officiating. Pall bearers will be Johnny Adams, Ricky Green, Blake Markham, James Thornell, A. W. Till and Johnny Woodward.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Loyd Shoemaker, Sr. and Clara Lillian Shoemaker; sister, Anita Shoemaker and brother-in-law, James Delashaw.

He is survived by his sister, Katye Delashaw; nephew, Tyler Delashaw (Darian) and great nieces and nephew, Isabella Colley, Brence Delashaw and Mackenzie Delashaw.

Loyd enjoyed being outdoors and Elmore County High School football. He had a big heart and was always willing to help a friend or family member. He will be missed by those who loved him.
