Gena Lynn Myers Sears was a bright soul who loved her family fiercely. She was born on July 19, 1971, and died on November 5, 2025, at just 54 years old, leaving behind a family and community who felt the warmth of her presence every day. Gena shone in the way she offered love freely, shared kindness without hesitation, and brought a genuine, heartfelt light into the lives around her.
She is survived by her two loving sons, Brandon Myers and Colin (Kristen) Myers, who were the pride and center of her world. She also leaves behind her cherished husband of 18 years, Alvin "Al" Sears, and her former husband, Mike (Traci) Myers, with whom she shared many years of family and friendship. Gena is also survived by her sister, Brooksane (Greg) Holmes, her brother, Mark (Mlieti) Sanders, her newly born twin granddaughters, Emery and Madison Myers, a host of nieces and nephews, as well as her mother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, all of whom treasured her kindness and spirit. Her family will ensure that her granddaughters grow up knowing the strength, tenderness, and love their grandmother carried in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcia Brock and Bruce Sanders, and by a beloved father-in-law.
Gena loved her family, friends, and Heavenly Father, and she carried her faith with a quiet sincerity that guided her through life's tangled paths. She adored fashion and wearing bright colors that matched her vivid spirit. Purple was her favorite, a color she cherished for its richness and warmth. She also loved horses, dogs, and being around people, finding joy and connection wherever life brought her. Gena loved spending time with her family at Lake Martin enjoying the water by swimming, on the boat or on lakeside while soaking up sunshine.
Her family will miss her dearly and will cherish the memories she so graciously gave.
