Geneva June Thornell

Mrs. June Thornell, 89, of Tallassee, passed away December 25, 2023. She was born December 1, 1934.

Visitation will begin at 11 am, Thursday, December 28, 2023 followed by the funeral service at 12 noon at Linville Memorial Funeral Home. Minister Mike McElroy will be officiating. Burial will follow in Carrville Cemetery.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Ethel Gantt; husband, Malcom Thornell and brother, Gene Gantt.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Thornell (Bambi); sister, Donna Tidwell (Kent); grandchildren, Dalton Thornell, Justin Butler (Jamie) and Jonathan Butler (Cassie); nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of East Tallassee Church of Christ and she loved her church family. She enjoyed reading, sewing and cooking. She will be remembered as a faithful and loving caretaker for family and friends. She was always ready and willing to help anyone. She was loved by her family and will be dearly missed.
