George was a proud veteran who served his country honorably as an E5 in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His deep love for his country and the American flag was evident throughout his life.

George dedicated 28 years of service to Kmart before continuing his career at Lighting Fair, where he worked until retirement. He was an active member of the Harper-McClellan VFW Post 5035 in Tallassee, where he once served as Commander. George cherished the camaraderie of his fellow veterans and enjoyed spending time with them. He found joy in the simple things - being outdoors, tinkering, and spending time with loved ones.

George is survived by his daughters, Melissa Stillwell (Jim) and Cassandra Sellers (David "Rat"); grandchildren, Andrew Roberts (Nickie), Colby Roberts (Kayla), Ashley Stillwell, Emily Stillwell, and Elizabeth Ware (Blake); and great-grandchildren, Alethia "Gracie" Roberts, Chase Roberts, Zoey Roberts, Harley Roberts, Colton Roberts, and Gunner Ware. He is also lovingly remembered by a host of nieces and nephews.

George leaves behind his beloved companion, Freida House, and was a cherished part of her family. Known affectionately as "Papa," he held a special place in the hearts of Freida's daughters, Missy Jones and Hazel Harsey; grandchildren, Paula, Michelle, and Naullie; and great-grandchildren, Laile and Paisley.
