Gladys Jean Broadway Jerrell

Gladys Jean Broadway Jerrell, 76, of Tallassee, Alabama passed away December 19, 2022 at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama. She was born June 14, 1946 in Montgomery, Alabama.

She is preceded in death by her parents, H.M. and Nell Broadway of Montgomery, AL; her husband of 27 years Raymond Jerrell, of Tallassee, AL and most recently her sister, Janice Hartley of Montgomery, AL.

She is survived by her son, Joseph Verrett, Jr. (Pattie) of Tallassee, AL; daughter, Jeanna Jerrell Hart (George) of Eclectic, AL; four granddaughters, Paris Smith (Tommy) of Tallassee, AL, Amy Pond (Mike) of Tallassee, AL, Faith Payne (Johnny) of Panama City, FL and BaLeigh Hart of Eclectic, AL; one grandson, George Douglas Hart, Jr. of Eclectic, AL; two step grandsons that she loved as her own, Blake Johnson (Jessica) and Brandon Johnson; twenty-three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren that she loved very much.

She is also survived by her brother, James (Sonny) Broadway (Lila); sisters, Brenda Wright (Joe), Pat Sexton (Howard), Joanne Stauch (Lynn), Ouida Petty (Howard) and many nieces and nephews. 

She was a Christian who served her Lord and Savior. She enjoyed working many years at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama. 

Graveside services for the family will be at Smith Cemetery in Wetumpka, Alabama, on Friday, December 23, 2022 at 12:00 noon.  Lynn Stauch will be officiating and Joe David Smith, Jr. will be speaking as well. Pall bearers will be George Hart Sr., George Douglas Hart Jr., Blake Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Mike Pond and Joe David Smith, Jr.
