Helen Anne Fincher Bryant, 79, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at her home in Tallassee, Alabama.
Anne was born August 9, 1947, in Carrollton, Georgia, to Ethan Travis Fincher, Jr., and Helen Estelle Smyly Fincher. The family moved to Tallassee when Anne was five. She grew up there, graduating from Tallassee High School (1965) and the University of Alabama (1969) with a degree in Physical Therapy.
Her 55 years of marriage to fellow high-school classmate Don Bryant included 22 years of travel as an Air Force wife, before returning to Tallassee to live and to renew involvement in her beloved Methodist Church and service on the Library Board and Band Boosters organization.
Anne was truly a "people person." She loved people, made friends naturally, and kept them forever. Her smile, personality, and friendship will be treasured in memory by so very many.
She is survived by her husband, children Travis Bryant (Brandi) and Emily Bryant, grandchildren Cullen and Ivey Bryant, brother-in-law W. C. Bryant, sisters-in-law Laura Bryant Harris and Kay Simmons Fincher, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and older brother, Travis Freeman Fincher.
The family greatly appreciates the care and comfort provided by Community Hospice, especially Crystin and Chiquita, and by caregiver Vanessa.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Monday, August 31, 2026 at Linville Memorial Funeral Home, and from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at First Methodist Church, Tallassee, with funeral service at 2:00 pm with Rev. Clint McBroom officiating. A private family graveside service will follow, with interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of love and sympathy may be contributions to Tallassee Community Library, 99 Freeman Avenue, or to First Methodist Church Tallassee, PO Box 780147, Tallassee, AL 36078.
