Inez Gates

Mrs. Inez Gates, 75, of Eclectic, passed away December 14, 2017. She was born September 25, 1942.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 12:30 pm until the time of funeral service at 2 pm, at First Baptist Church of Eclectic with Rev. Britt Green officiating. Burial will follow at Bullard Cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing.

She is survived by sons, Tim Gates (Pam), Chris Gates (Kathleen Moon), Wesley Gates, Jay Gates (Betsy) and Alan Gates (Sandy); brother, Melvin Filmore Littleton; grandchildren, Stephanie Meeks, David Gates, Wayne Gates, Joshua Gates, Jessica New, Tyler Gates, Tina, Leslie Hinton, Matthew Gates, Elizabeth Gates, Evelyn Gates and Claire Gates; twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Thomas Gates Jr; and sons, Tommy Gates and Terry Gates

She was a career state employee for many years with the Highway Department. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Eclectic and was a councilwoman for Eclectic. She enjoyed participating in all civic organizations and a variety of city clubs. She spent countless hours working in her yard. Besides her children, she took great pride in winning “Yard of the Month” awards. She was a dear friend of the Eclectic Fire Department and will be missed greatly by all who knew her and the lives she touched.
