James Edward Koutney Sr.

James Edward Koutney Sr, age 78, of Tallassee, passed away peacefully in his home on September 19, 2025. He was born on November 24, 1946.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Koutney; his mother, Jenevive Koutney; and his daughter, Denise Newman.

He is survived by his sons, James E. Koutney Jr (Shannon) and Sonny Scott (Kim); daughter, Penni Scott; son-in-law, Johnny Newman; grandchildren, Izzy and Gabby Koutney, Jonathan and Jarrod Scott, Ali and Skylar Goff-Scott, Harley and Callie Newman; sisters, Rosemary Kearns (Kurt) and Gail Eppenbach; and brother, Wayne Koutney.

The family will celebrate his life at his home, 495 Greenwood Rd, Tallassee, AL, on Saturday, October 4, 2025, beginning at 5 pm. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
