James Morgan David Cameron

On Monday, June 22, 2026 James Morgan David Cameron, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and cherished friend, peacefully passed away at the age of 86 in Wetumpka, Alabama.

James was born on November 29, 1939 at home. He graduated from Carrollton High School. He married Rebecca Welch on December 19, 1959. James was a Baptist. He was a seasoned musician, a part of several bands throughout his life. James was also a skilled mechanic.

Visitation will begin at 1 pm with funeral service to follow at 2 pm, Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Linville Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Jamie Baldwin officiating.

James had a passion for music, a love for travel, and a curious spirit that took him to many beautiful places. He found happiness spending time with the ones he loved, treasured moments with his wife, children and grandchildren, and in the little things that made life meaningful. He was known for his quick wit, warm smile, and his endlessly caring heart.

James was preceded in death by both parents, James Gardner Cameron and Oralee Cameron; sisters, Oline Cameron and Reva Cameron-Brown and sons, James Mitchell Cameron and Gardner Davis Cameron.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Rebecca Cameron; siblings, Ray, Donnie and Maxine; children, Keith Cameron, Monroe (Qituwrah) Cameron, Shane Cameron, and Mandy Lynn (Antonio) Sligh; grandchildren, Jason, Laura, Austin, Bryanna, Brandi, Jacob, Logan, Paisley, Shylar, Nevaeh, Trinity, Mitchell and Morgan; several great-grandchildren and many loving relatives and dear friends.
