James Harold Patillo

James Harold Patillo, 84, of Eclectic, Alabama, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026 in his home in Tallassee, AL. He was born November 20, 1941 in Notasulga, Alabama to Clester Jack Patillo and Rena Curry.

He graduated from Louisiana State University in 1992 with a degree in finance and worked 42 years in banking before retiring as Vice President for PrimeSouth Bank in 2006. He served in the Army from 1964-1966 as Army Military Police. He married Rita J. Lynch in 1964 and had two children, Karl Patillo and Karita Worthy. Harold was a pillar of his community and made an impact on those who he came in contact with. He enjoyed gardening in his free time, and grew more flowers than even he knew what to do with. He loved traveling with family and spending time with his grandkids. He was an honorary Mason based out of the Kiligee Grande Lodge in Kent, AL. Harold loved Jesus and his church family.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rita Patillo; son, Karl Patillo; daughter Karita Worthy (Billy Hankins); grandchildren, Elizabeth Patillo, Caitlin Hastings, Jordan McNeil (Brie Lilly), Jaidyn Patillo, Magnolia and Ezekiel Worthy and niece, Rena Lyde.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clester Patillo and Rena Curry; foster parents, Homer and Julia Wynn; brother, Donald Patillo and beloved daughter-in-love, Leigh Patillo.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 11:00 am with a memorial service following at 12:00 pm at Vessel Church in Eclectic, Alabama, with Rev. Adam Turner officiating.

In lieu of flowers, Harold expressed wishes for memorial contributions to Vessel Church's building fund.
