James Austin "Jimmy" Thornton

Mr. James Austin “Jimmy” Thornton, 73, of Tallassee, passed away June 4, 2019. He was born June 28, 1945.

Funeral service will be Friday, June 7, at 11:00 am at Bethlehem East Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Bridgman officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Rick Dorley officiating, Linville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory directing. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 9:00 am at Bethlehem East Baptist Church.

Jimmy worked in the timber management for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Dean Thornton; sons, Dave (Debra) Thornton, Charles Thornton and Jason (Christi) Thornton; daughters, Dawn (Michael) Pilgreen, Deana (Matt) Hamm, Mona Windham Hamilton and Kim Windham (Jim) Thornton; thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
