Jerry Wade Speake of Eclectic Alabama, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 14, 2026 at the age of 79. Jerry was born on May 21, 1947. He and his twin brother Terry were born and raised in Our Town, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his father Dearel Green Speake, his mother Clara Belle Speake, and his brothers Jimmy, Bobby and Randy.
He is survived by his brother Terry (Holly), his sister Elaine (Ronald Joe), his sons Jeremy, Jarrad (Sherry), Josh and Jamon (Verla), thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Some of Jerry's favorite things to do were hunting, fishing and tending to his farm animals. Jerry served in the Alabama National Guard for 27 years. He also retired from the United States Postal Service as a rural carrier. Jerry is well known in these parts for owning the Chicken Auction on Auction Barn Road in Eclectic.
Visitation will begin at 11 am with funeral service to follow at 12 pm at Mt. Hebron East Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Rev. Jake Walker will officiate. Pallbearers will be Daniel Speake, Charlie Speake, Jeremy Wade Speake, Ethan Colley, Frankie Mann and Cody Dennis. Honorary pallbearers will be Drake Bonner and Daniel Moon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
