Jewel Thornton Rutland

Mrs. Jewel Thornton Rutland, age 80, a resident of Montgomery and formerly from Tallassee, died Monday, December 20, 2010.She was born September 18, 1930.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at East Tallassee Methodist Church with Rev. Jay Woodall officiating.Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Linville Memorial Funeral Home.

She is survived by son, Joe Causey (Rose) of Birmingham; daughter, Brenda Adair of Montgomery; brother, James A. Thornton (Lillie); sister, Sylvia Coats (Jack); brother-in-law, Bobby Willis; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, K. C. Rutland; daughter, Rita Sandifer; sister, Grace Willis and granddaughter, Angie Truitt.
