Kellie Kay Evans, 67, of Tallassee, passed away July 6, 2026. She was born March 26, 1959 to Fenton and Beulah Bryan of Elba, AL.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 9-10 am at Linville Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 2 pm at Evergreen Cemetery in Elba, Alabama, with Hayes Funeral Home assisting. She is survived by her husband, Russell Burch; children, Abby Kirkland (Eric), Wesley Qualls (Kylie), Lindsey N. Burch, Russell A. Burch III and Brett C. Burch; grandchildren, Baylee Parker, Hayden Parker, Bailey Davis, Brylie Davis, Caiden Burch, Callie Burch, Hazel Burch, Tyler Tranmer, Kaylie Tranmer, Christopher Alexander, Marley Alexander, Elliot Kirkland and Benji Kirkland; siblings, Debra Bryan Dunn (Shelton) and Michael Bryan (Leneatha); and niece, Hannah Clair Dunn.
She was a graduate of Elba High School and held higher education degrees from Troy University. Kellie worked for many years as a computer technician/specialist for the United States Department of Agriculture. She even held a part time computer technician job at a drag race track in Budds Creek, MD for a short while.
Kellie was a "jack of all trades" and collected hobbies. She was an amateur baker, seamstress, and painter. In high school she made clothes and as an adult loved to push her sewing skills by creating various costume pieces. She baked and decorated many birthday cakes and even baked the annual Kids Choir Camp cake and Pentecost Cakes at First Methodist. If you ask her daughter, Abby, about Kellie's painting skills, she would say that Kellie was meticulous and fancied herself a female Bob Ross at times. No, really, she used to paint with Bob Ross videos!
If there was a hobby that Kellie grasped and held onto later in life, it was music. Kellie was a member of First Methodist Tallassee where she participated in Chancel Choir, Handbells, and the Dulcimer group as well as volunteered at the Mission House. Doing something musical was a non-negotiable for Kellie which led to a son who DJs and a daughter who did choir and band throughout high school and college.
Over the years Kellie participated in local theatre performances put on by the Friends of Tukabatchee and Preservation Society AND she was in the Follies for multiple years. If there was an opportunity to dress up in costume or period piece, you can bet Kellie was there, ready to go!
She was also a member of the Talisi Historical Preservation Society where she held various leadership positions and volunteered at the Talisi Falls Museum.
Kellie loved fiercely and directed that love to family and friends. She always wanted to spend time with children and grandchildren, whether that was in-person or on FaceTime, and she loved spending time with her brother, sister, and cousins. Kellie was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
If you feel led, in lieu of flowers, Kellie would have loved for people to make donations to organizations that do amazing things. You can make a donation anywhere, but Smile-A-Mile holds a special place in our family's heart so if you don't have a place in mind, feel free to donate here: https://smileamile-bloom.kindful.com
