Linda Ruth Taunton

October 27, 1948 — April 14, 2026

Linda Ruth Taunton, 77, of Dadeville, AL, passed away the evening of April 14, 2026 at her home. She was born October 27, 1948.

Linda was known best for her love of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her wish was for all to know Him personally as she did. One of her greatest gifts was her ability to minister through music in song, which so many have enjoyed and will continue for years to come. She was bold in her faith and testimony of God's goodness to all she encountered. Linda loved people and could start a conversation anywhere.

She worked in the construction field as a project manager for many years and traveled much of the United States with her jobs. After working for 40 years, she retired in 2018 and moved to Lake Martin, where she enjoyed traveling, visiting friends and family and making memories with her dear friend Patti.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Irene Taunton; her brothers, Dan Taunton, Jr. and James Taunton; and her sister, Sue Hornsby.

She is survived by her long-time best friend, Patricia Fields; sister, Fay Moore, brothers, Harold Taunton and Wayne Taunton; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Expressions of love and sympathy may be contributions to her church, Saugahatchee Assembly of God, 14521 Alabama Highway 49, Camp Hill, AL 36850 or a charity of one's choice in memory of Linda Taunton.

There will be a celebration of her life held at Carville Cemetery on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 12 pm. No other services or viewing will be held per Linda's request.

We invite you to remember Linda in praise and worship with her by viewing many of her songs on Patti's Facebook page.
