Marvarene Swicord

Marvarene “Nana” Swicord, 74, of Eclectic, passed away December 26, 2018. She was born October 6, 1944.

Funeral service will be Saturday, December 29, at 2 pm, at Linville Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Tidwell officiating. Pallbearers will be Jacob Lawrence, Jett Sides, Sam Grigsby, Robbie Grigsby, Brandon Grigsby and Hayden Holton. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing. Visitation will start at 12 noon at the funeral home prior to the service.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Donald Swicord; daughters, Steffani Sides (David) and Melissa Lawrence (Mike Hect); grandchildren, Jacob Lawrence and Jett Sides; sister, Montez Lumpkin; niece, Pam Grigsby (James); and nephew, Keith Lumpkin (Terri).

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Steve Davis and niece, Melonie Speakes.

Marvarene operated her own beauty shop in Tallassee in the late 60’s and was known for being the best hairdresser around. She was an avid fan of the Auburn Tigers. She was loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. Online condolences at www.linvillememorial.com.
