Mrs. Mary Frances Griffith, 85, of Tallassee, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014. She was born February 14, 1929.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Refuge Baptist church, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am, with Rev. Steve Scarborough and Rev. Tim Bass officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing.

She is survived by her children, Shelby Rodgers (Doug), Myra Burroughs (Jim), Debra Roberson (Tony), Terry Griffith (Kathy) and Stephanie Welch (Sam); sisters, Nelda Steele, Julia Burnett and Iris Robinson; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Elbert Griffith and a brother, Charles Leroy “Tebo” Gibson.

Mary Frances was a loving mother and grandmother. She had a servant’s heart in everything she chose to do. She will be remembered for handing out the desserts at the Red Hill Cottage Café, especially her famous banana pudding. She was always available to lend a helping hand.
