Melinda Ann Brown

Melinda Ann Brown, 70, of Prattville, passed away November 4, 2026. She was born November 21, 1955.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 7, 2026 beginning at 9 am at Linville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 10 am with Bro. Tom Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in Carrville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Todd, James Walker, Ken Langley, RC Johnson, Roy Laporte and Garry Dunn, all members of the Autauga County Rescue Squad.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Frances Surles; husband, Jerry Lee Brown; sister, Wanda Blatchford and daughter (by love), Lynn Nix.

She is survived by her brothers, Herman Surles, Jr. and Mike (Linda) Surles; daughter, Jeri (Dale) Dillard; brother-in-law, Lance Blatchford; grandchildren, Brittany Bryant and Brooke (Jeremy) Ballentine; a niece that was like a granddaughter, Kayla (Kade) Simmons, Hope (Truman) Franklin, Justin Taylor and Ryan (Lindsey) Taylor; and several great-grandchildren.

Melinda had a love for all kinds of animals and would fee any stray. She even fed a family of possums and raccoons and had many beloved and very spoiled fur babies. She enjoyed watching birds, especially hummingbirds. She was an avid Hallmark movie watcher and her favorite TV series was Heartland. She was ready to go be with her husband again and since her sister Wanda's recent passing, she decided it was time to go.

"Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we shall always be with the Lord." I Thessalonians 4:17
