Moncell Sides Thornell

Mrs. Moncell Sides Thornell, age 76, a resident of Eclectic, passed away October 17, 2012 after an extended illness. She was born on March 23, 1936.

Visitation will be Friday, October 19, 2012 from 5:30 pm to 8 pm at Linville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Eclectic with Rev. Britt Green officiating. Burial will follow at Bullard Cemetery. Moncell worked several jobs prior to her retirement from the State of Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs, where she had served for 17 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Jay Sides and Leileen Sides Avant, and on July 10th by her husband, Lawrence Thornell, who were linked in love and marriage for 57 years. She is survived by her two sons, Larry (wife Janice) and David (wife Carol); her four grandchildren, Brad (wife Pattie), Blake (wife Sarah), Libby and Brett; one great-grandchild, Katy Thornell; two brothers, Randolph Sides (Liz) and Ray Sides; and one sister, Shirley Alexander (Billy). Many others called her Cell or Aunt Cell and she loved them all.
