Nancy Kaye Hornsby

Nancy Hannon Hornsby, 76, of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away September 29, 2026. Nancy was born on April 12, 1950, to William David Hannon and Moline Jones Hannon, of Tallassee. She was a graduate of Tallassee High School Class of 1968. After high school, Nancy worked for The Bank of Tallassee for 45 years until retirement.

In 1973, Nancy married the love of her life, Kenneth Michael Hornsby, "Mike." They were married for 53 years. They had two children, a daughter, Melissa Kaye Hornsby, and a son, Michael David Hornsby.

Nancy loved God and family above all. She enjoyed family vacations, being there for her children, and supporting them in whatever they were involved in. Nancy was a woman of prayer. Her prayer list was a very important part of her daily life. She loved spending time and doing ministry with her "WINGS" Sunday School Class. She also enjoyed spending time with the ladies of the Class of '68.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents David and Moline Hannon. She is survived by her husband Mike Hornsby, daughter Melissa (Todd) Smith, son David (Jamie) Hornsby, grandchildren Kelsey (Malcom) Webb, Morgan (Harley) Baker, Michael (Hannah) Smith, Evelyn and Emerson Hornsby, ten great grandchildren, sister Donna Williamson, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at First Baptist Church Tallassee, 1279 Friendship Road, Tallassee, AL 36078 on Thursday, October 1, 2026. Visitation will be from 10:00 am 11:00 and the funeral services will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Rev. Todd Smith and Rev. Trey Waldrop will be officiating the service. Pallbearers will be Shawn Williamson, Steve Masters, Drew Baker, Jaxon Luster, Harley Baker, and Michael Smith
