Peggy Butler Taylor

Mrs. Peggy Butler Taylor, of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away January 20, 2026, at the age of 69. She was affectionately known to her grandchildren as “Gran Gran.” Peggy was born on October 17, 1956, to the late Johnnie and Flora Butler.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm with funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Bradford's Chapel UMC, Tuskegee, AL. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Tallassee, AL.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph “Dale” Taylor, with whom she shared 30 years of marriage; her parents, Johnnie and Flora Butler; her brothers, Clyde Butler and Jessie Butler; and her sister, Glenda Baker.

Peggy is survived by her loving children, Ron (Jessica) Taylor and Brandi (Ryan) Tarver; her cherished grandchildren, Kylie Taylor, Mason Taylor, Reagan Tarver, Ryla Tarver, Aryah Tarver, and Ryan Tarver, Jr.; her sister, Sherrie Reeves; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Peggy loved spending time at the river with her family and friends and treasured the many cookouts at the barn, especially those gathered around the burn barrel. She had a warm, caring spirit and found her greatest happiness surrounded by those she loved.

Above all else, Peggy’s greatest joy was her grandchildren. She loved them deeply and unconditionally, and they were truly the light of her life. Being “Gran Gran” was one of her proudest roles, and the love she poured into each of them will live on forever.
