Phillip Carey Pouncey, 60, passed away on February 4, 2026. Born on December 14, 1965 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Phillip lived a life defined by faith, devotion to family, and service to others.
Phillip was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Allison Marshall Pouncey; daughters, Kennon Brake (Dan) and Mary Claire Ostwalt (Pierce); son, Chapman Pouncey; stepdaughter, Anne Hays Wright; stepsons, Harrison Wright and Jackson Wright; brother, Michael Pouncey; parents, Billy and Barbara Pouncey; and grandchildren, Theodora Brake, Murphy Brake and Peter Ostwalt.
Phillip was a faithful servant of the Lord. His faith guided his life, shaped his character, and sustained him through both blessings and trials. He was known as a man of deep devotion to his friends and family, always quick to lend a hand. Phillip loved to make others laugh and feel safe. He lived out his beliefs quietly but consistently, showing kindness and integrity to all that he encountered.
Phillip worked in construction his entire life, building a successful business as a general contractor. He took pride in his work and in bringing joy to others through it. Outside of work, Phillip loved to be outdoors- especially with the ones he loved. He will be deeply missed.
The family will receive friends for visitation at Church in the Pines in Eclectic, AL, on Monday, February 9, 2026, beginning at 1:00 p.m. A service honoring Phillip's life will be held directly thereafter, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Children's Harbor at Lake Martin.
