Ramona Jean Jones

Ramona "Nanny" J. Jones, 68, of Eclectic, passed away peacefully at her home on March 24, 2026. She was born on January 1, 1958, in Tallassee and was raised on a farm.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Marion Lazenby; her brothers, Charles and Clifton Lazenby; and her son, Will Jones.

Ramona is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, William "Peewee" Jones; her sister, Barbara Sue McGhar; her children, Dwight (Tammy) Jones, Carol (David) Tucker, Paul Carswell, and Lynn (Anthony) Singleton; as well as many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She dedicated 17 years of service to Community Hospital in Tallassee, where she later retired. During her time there, her coworkers became like family, and her patients became lifelong friends. She was deeply loved by those she worked with and cared for. Ramona was also a devoted member of Good Hope Baptist Church.

She cherished her family dearly and was especially proud of her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored. Her love extended beyond measure, and she was truly loved by everyone who knew her.
