Shelby J. Smith

Ms. Shelby J. Smith, 77 of Tallassee passed away on October 12, 2022. She was born November 10, 1944.

Visitation will be Monday, October 17, 2022 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Linville Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 2 pm at Macedonia Christian Church in Tallassee with Rev. David Hooks officiating. There will be a visitation at the church one  hour prior to her service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Owens, Opelika and Donna (Dwight) Warren, Tallassee; grandchildren, LaDonna Thornton, Tallassee and Ashley (Geoffrey) Rhinehart, Tallassee; great grandchildren, Jaiden, Luke and Sawyer Rhinehart; and her beloved pets, Reecee, Milly, and Tilly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Brodie and Evlon Hornsby; siblings, Jo Ann Frazier and James Simmons and son-in-law, Winford Owens.

She was a very special lady, loved by her family and friends. She loved her Lord, family, and her country music. She will be missed by all that knew her. She was a beautiful flower that God needed for His bouquet.
