Shirley Anne Phillips

Shirley Anne Phillips, age 86, of Tallassee, passed away August 1, 2025. She was born September 3, 1938. Born on September 3, 1938, Shirley lived a life marked by grace, generosity, and unwavering faith.

A celebration of her life will begin with visitation being held at 9:00 am and funeral service to follow at 10:00 am on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Good Hope Baptist Church as Rev. Jamey Walls officiates. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin Phillips; parents, Aubrey and Eunice Thornton; sisters, Kathleen Dean and Rebecca Stewart; and sister-in-love, Faye Thornton (Robert).

She is survived by her brother, Robert Thornton (Hazel); daughters, Janice Lock (Wendell), Connie Staudinger (Richard) and Kimberly Couch (Russell); sons, David Phillips (Stephanie) and Steven Phillips; along with twenty-two grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Shirley’s life was a radiant example of kindness and compassion. With a servant’s heart, she found joy in helping others and saw beauty all around. Her smile was contagious and her love flowed freely to all she met. A devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and above all, a faithful child of God, Shirley’s soul touched countless lives in the most beautiful and unforgettable ways. She will absolutely love to welcome you for a visit in her new mansion - in God’s perfect timing. Heaven changes everything!
