Stephen Wesley Meadows

July 22, 1976 — January 2, 2026

Stephen Wesley Meadows, age 49, of Eclectic, AL passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, surrounded by family and friends at his residence after a five-year battle with colon cancer. He was raised in Seneca, SC and later moved to Alabama.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Meadows; grandparents and numerous uncles and an aunt.

He leaves behind a loving wife, Denise; sons, Wesley (McKenzie) of Wetumpka, AL and Spencer (Sherah) of Laurinburg, NC; father, Wayne; brothers, Nathan and Brandon (Leigh); uncles, Ray (Patricia), Keith, and Danny (Jo) McAlister, Carl (Ginny) and Kenneth Meadows; aunts, Eula Mae Stone, Melinda and Cynthia McAlister; In-laws, Larry and Barbara Forbus; brother-in-law, Patrick (Casey) Forbus; two nieces, a nephew and a host of cousins, including a special cousin, Mayor Bradley McAlister (Kenlynn) of Blenheim, SC.

Stephen was a truck driver for over 25 years working at Superior Gas, Fed Ex Express, AAA Cooper and FedEx Freight. Most recently he worked as the Outbound Supervisor for the FedEx Freight Montgomery terminal.

Stephen was always making people laugh, telling jokes or a story. He was full of life and had a mischievous sense of humor ~~ he loved to aggravate and was known as the life of the party and affectionately referred to as "Trouble" by those at the Cancer Center.

He loved people! He especially enjoyed hosting people in their home and feeding them. He loved to grill and smoke BBQ utilizing his "signature special seasoning" which he used on everything, including ribeyes and prime rib. Time off work was spent working outside on his tractor, projects around the house, traveling, playing the guitar and singing. Church was a priority for him and his family; they frequently attended campmeetings and youth camps across the states. He faithfully attended Grier Chapel Holiness Church and Summit Holiness Church.

Stephen will be truly missed and eternally have a special place in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His unwavering faith in a BIG God will be long remembered. "My God is so big, so strong and so mighty, there's nothing my God cannot do."

Heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Bellam, Kristie, Mallory and the entire staff of the Montgomery Cancer Center - Prattville for loving us well.
