Virginia Ann Wallace, a lifelong resident of Tallassee, AL passed away on June 19, 2023. She was born August 6, 1948 in Tallassee, AL.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 23, 2023 beginning at 11 am, followed by the funeral service at 12 noon at Linville Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Cullars and Pastor Donnie Burns officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.

Left to mourn her loss and celebrate her life are her sons, Scotty Wallace (Susan) and Rusty Wallace (Bonita); beloved grandchildren, Randy Wallace (Adrine), Katey Owens (James), Brock Wallace (Taylor), Jeffrey Kidd (Adrienne), Dylan Wallace (Lauren), Mallory Caldwell and Andrew Bennett (Maddie); great grandchildren, Allie Owens, Skylar Segrest, Emilie Owens and Hudson Wallace; sisters, Donna Wood, Reanee Smith and brother, Johnny Darryl Smith along with a host of favored nieces, nephews, and cousins. Virginia had three lifelong best friends who will miss her dearly: Kay Massey, Sherri Reaves, and Jane Pilgrim.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Wayne Wallace; parents, Johnnie D. and Katie Belle Smith and brother, Mike Smith.

A very special thank you to Kim Wallace (Claire) and Jesse Clarance Sanders for always being there and looking after her after she lost her beloved husband, Wayne Wallace.

Virginia was happiest when she was surrounded by family and friends and she was the family matriarch. She always made sure that anyone who visited her home would never leave hungry. Once she knew your favorite candy, she would keep it in stock awaiting your visit. Her countertop was stocked with Tootsie Rolls, Reese's Cups, KitKats, Soft Peppermints, and Caramel Creams. She will always be remembered for her fierce love for her family, her friends, and her church.

The family would like to thank Ivy Creek Hospice, Herren Hill Pharmacy, Fresenius Kidney Care and all her caregivers who lovingly supported her and her family during her illness.

Flowers are welcome or expressions of sympathy may be memorial contributions to a charity or organization of choice.
