William Alewine, 71, of Eclectic, passed away April 4, 2026. He was born May 8, 1954.
Known for his profound kindness and a soul that belonged to the sea, William Alewine set sail on his final voyage, leaving behind a legacy of boundless love and gentle strength. He was a man who truly understood the value of a slow afternoon, a forgiving word, and having your own 'Margaritaville' on the back porch-a place where the wind was always to your back, and the door was always open. While the water was his peace, his family was his greatest pride. He loved each one with an unwavering fierceness.
Bill is now reunited with his brother, Mike, on golden shores with calmer waters. He will be survived by his beloved wife and partner in all of life's adventures, Maria. His legacy lives on through his children, Bobbi, Gary, Elizabeth (Jotham), and Marc (Tiffany), who carry forward his spirit of kindness. He is survived by his grandchildren, Garrison (Brayden) and Ford, and his great grandson Stratton. He also leaves behind his devoted mother, Leona, and his sisters, Dot amd Betty.
While his immediate family was his anchor, his 'porch' was always full. There are simply too many beloved friends, nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, outlaws, and chosen family members to list. If you ever shared a cold drink with him on a boat, or a laugh on his back deck, know that you were part of his paradise, and ours.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you raise a glass, put on some Jimmy Buffet, and perform an act of kindness in his honor.
